Dual boot W7 and XP - XP doesn't recognise data drives

    Hello

I have been running a desktop with XP Pro SP3 for 5 years. It has 3 HDD - one for OS/programs and two for data.

I just installed a SSD and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 onto it. I can boot OK into either OS. However, in W7 I can see all four HDD OK, whereas in XP I can only see the SSD and the HDD with XP/programs on it - I can't see the two data drives. They don't show up in XP under Windows Explorer; Computer Management; or Disk Management. Could it be something to do with changing from IDE to AHCI for the SSD install?

    Thanks.

I disconnected all existing drives when I installed the SSD and W7. All four drives show up in BIOS and when I boot to W7, but the two data drives simply don't show up in XP. Could it be missing drivers? or something to do with changing the IDE setting to ACHI?

Solved this myself. It was because the mobo doesn't accept ACHI, so I deleted the Win7 partitions and re-installed it from scratch after setting teh Drives back to IDE.
