You always treat a new motherboard as a "new" motherboard and enter the configuration setup FIRST. This gives the BIOS a chance to recognize and setup the hardware. I've replaced MBs and as long as it's the same model, Windows should start then re-load the drivers. You'll need to do this anyway to get your keyboard back during boot. Set the Legacy USB support back on if you want to be able to use the keyboard during boot.

Carwiz can you suggest settings changes or setup in BIOS to avert this install hang?

When i installed the new MB the first thing i did was to enter bios setup and reset the cmos, then the problems started.About the keyboard at legacy usb support it has a third option: "ONLY BIOS SETUP" with that option i can use my keyboard at the boot as well

I don't know anything about LenOx other than I don't care to learn.

Looks like the OP found a cure anyway.

Didn't know you'd lost your data. There are ways to copy it out with the Repair CD or Win7 DVD if they will boot, or Paragon Rescue CD freeware which will boot itself. Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Do you by chance have a usb hub connected? Specifically the keyboard and or mouse through a hub? I remember seeing this as an issue and googled this:

WINDOWS 7 Boot-Up Problem with USB Hub - Microsoft Answers

Try booting Seven with no usb devices connected. A Guy

EDIT: Ooops, see you apparently did a clean install?

I would test the HD first using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan.

Then use the same CD to wipe the HD to clear the boot sector.

Next boot the WIn7 DVD, choose Custom Install, use Drive Options if you want to partition, or just click Next and Win7 will partition for you with a 100mb boot partiition and the rest as your OS partition.

i tested my hd about a week ago and it didnt have any problem.im installing windows 7 at the moment and i will right away install the drivers when im done since they might be the cause for my unstable pc.

Also what about usb legacy support option should i change it back to enabled or leave it as it is?
