    I see. When you deleted the folders the first time was there a window that said the folder was too big for the Recycle bin?

    I'd run chkdsk /f /r from an elevated command prompt.

    It may find some file system or indexing problems and fix them.

    I can't recall a problem like this.

    No, there was no warning that the folders were too big for the recycling bin.

    I'm on XP at this time but Win7 has a similar Recycle Bin property. Right click the bin, bring up properties and make sure the box in the snip is not checked. If it is, the files are gone.

    you can also try to use Recuva free version. It will take a lot of time to complete. Recuva - Download
