    Eatme,

First off, welcome to the Sevenforums!

    • What antivirus do you have?
    • You might try some of these tutorials, as it may speed up your computer: Optimize Windows 7
    • Do you have all the important updates from windows installed?
    • Do you have all the most recent drivers installed? If not or you aren't sure, I would be glad to help you look for them. In order to do so, please Fill out your system specs (this tool may help you out a great deal).

If this is a one time thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sometimes a computer can get hung up.

Boot the Win7 System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair a few times to see if it finds and fixes anything.

Run a full Malwarebytes scan, if necessary in Safe Mode.

    Next run SFC -SCANNOW Command.

Run a clean boot: in msconfig>Startup uncheck everything (add AV back later) then after reboots in msconfig>Services, select Hide All MS Services and do the same thing. Reboot again, if anything writes itself back in turn it off in Program Preferences or Uninstall it. See if it helps.

Work through these troubleshooting steps checking the logs and System resources for clues, testing hardware, working up to a possible Repair Install.
