Back to Vista (or XP) – (rant)

Or why I cant/wont use W7. Auto Arrange. I see it’s been discussed here (Auto Arrange?) and elsewhere, and there is apparently no fix.
It’s so simple, it’s so stupid not to allow one to drag a file off to the side of an open folder and park it for quick/easy recall. I know… just drag it onto the desktop ect. I have no problem once I close then reopen a file its rearranges. I can live/appreciate that. There are times I drag a file into an open folder and not pay attention to file name and now it’s lost instantly among possibly hundreds of other files. There are many other reasons I HATE AUTO ARRANGE but by know you’re tired of my rant.
I was so looking forward to W7. We all know about Vistas issues. I passed by Vista and been with XP for to long now… I thought finally… one OS to suite all my needs. So MS, are you listening? FIX AUTOARRANGE so I have a use for my pre-ordered CD once it finally arrives.

If this causes you so much angst that it overshadows everything else, then I believe you should stick with Vista or XP and be happy.

Agreed. Every OS will have little problems like this, and IMO this is a very minor problem at best. I can see how you might be irritated, but I don't really understand how you miss remembering the names of your files.

Guys... I think you should use your memory (I'm not talking about your PC's memory...) to remember at least the name of what are you looking for instead of unuse an superior OS.
I know that it is a "pointless limitation", like robcardiv said before, but I don't think that it ruins the OS at all. Machines are machines and humans are humans. Machines are programmed some way that have limited adaptation to the human needs. Instead, humans can adapt to that. So, put a little of your effort trying to use the system in a different way than you do before and you'll notice that you're using a very good, fast and stable OS. :)

    Cheers from Argentina.

    Please provide examples.

BTW - MS, Sun, Oracle, Cisco are all hiring. Put your skillset where your mouth is.

If Win 7 is such a problem for you then move to Linux or Mac OS's, or take some time and use 7 to determine if it is really what you want. In time 7 then 8 will be the only way you will be able to go. So take a chill pill and enjoy life. :)

Right click on the desktop and turn off auto arrange.

If you are too stupid to figure that out and decide to troll here instead, then thats your problem.

Go back to XP and shut the hell up.
