Ryan, before you do a clean install try opening an elevated command prompt ( go to start, in the search box type cmd, on the cmd entry that appears right click it and select 'run as administrator) in the command window, copy/paste this sfc /scannow This is a system file checker that will verify and attempt to repair damaged system files. If it finds errors that cannot be fixed, you may need to run it several times.
Right now I'm registering all my .dll files to see if that makes a difference. That was one of the solutions I found while Googling. Maybe this will work.. The arrange problem is a small concern still but now I'm more focused on the new user account thing. It's bugging me that there might be a huge issues with my Windows 7 and I don't want it to end up affecting my Administrator account.
Ryan, you could try sfc /scannow to see if you have system files that need to be fixed.

I will do the System file scan directly after I see if this .dll method fixes anything.
I have only Folder in the arrange by option. Not much on the net about this issue. As well as the exact same as Ryan, also at same time, Homegroup went wierd. I can see and access the 2 other PC's and their files, but the 2 other PC's can see my name, my PC name is in the network locations of 2 other PC'c, but they cannot open any of the folders I shared with the 2 other PC's. I know these 2 issues are linked, but it doesnt seem to be a common prob. Lucky I have many System Images, But I am scared to go there yet. I have gone back one restore point, but same. It did though fix Peername res protocol, which was not starting, and Homegroup wouldnt let me leave the group (so I could rejoin) Now, since the restore back, peer is back, and I can leave HGroup n join again, but still 2 PC can see my name but not access folders, and I only have FOLDER as arange by option. I have done 3 separate virus scans, incl MWB, and 0 will restore back more, and hope, or will eventually have to do system image Scary. Any ideas, Clues?
I use to be able to change this option however it now only allows to arrange by folder.
The only changes I've done recently is updating my Kaspersky software.
If any has solved this problem please tell me the secret?
Hello, Little MN, I hope I can help, as I have been helped by various people on various issues. 1st, I tried to go back to a restore point, as also I was having trouble with my Homegruop sharing too at the same time. My Peer name resolution wasnt starting also. Going back to the previous restore point fixed that, but my Library was still only able to arrange by folder, which is very annoyig. Can you tell me if it only affects one of your libraries? Cos it was only with one of my libraries, one which I had created myself to put all my favourite folders only in. All my Doc, Pic, Vids, and Music Libraries were still working good. If it is on just one library, tell me, and I have an easy fix for you.
I may of replied in wrong place B4, Does it only affect one library, or all of your libraries. If It is only one library, the one you use most regularly, I have an answer that worked for me. Please tell me if it is one, or all of your libraries. Thanks. (and it is a very easy simple answer, that doesnt require any long or difficult work)
So did you fix your "arrange by folder" only option, LittleMissNoFac?
