No icon when steam is pinned to taskbar

I have included some screenshots. When I try and pin the steam.exe application to the taskbar, it works, but has that default no image/icon attached image.

However, as you can see in the open window, the steam.exe application does show that icon as part of it.

Any thoughts? Kind of driving me nuts even though its not really a functional problem. Thanks.

Welcome to Seven forums. Try right clicking the shortcut and selecting properties, under the general tab select change icon, navigate to the steam icon and select that. It should change the icon.

No dice. I tried changing forcing it to steam.exe (which is already assoc with the icon). Then I tried associating the icon with the little .ico picture file as well (that is whats shown in the screenshot).

The only difference I see in yours and mine is, mine is installed on a seperate drive, but your icon is the .ICO file and mine is the .EXE file.

Yeah thats what mine was originally, I could choose between the regular steam icon and the steam working icon. So i tried switching to the ico file like I mentioned. Unfortunately, it hasn't changed anything. Kind of odd little issue, I know it was working a while back when I had it pinned. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried going to the exe file and right clicking and selecting show on desktop or pin to taskbar? That's about all I can think of.

So I tried unpinned the program and right after that I 'sent' the steam.exe to desktop as a shortcut.

All of a sudden I have the steam icon back and its pinned.

I thought to myself, well I just unpinned it...but whatever its back now.

Great. Glad you have it the way you like it.
