I'm out of suggestions at the moment.
But will keep trying to solve this problem.
I'll post or PM you as I get something, sorry.

There is nothing to work through. It either detects my drives (10% of the time) or it sees nothing (90%).

Even on those rare occasions when my drives are listed, I can do nothing - none of the keys work, I can't get to the BIOS or System Recovery or Diagnostics or boot into safe mode. Even when it sees a CD drive it won't boot to it - probably because by taking out the battery I set it back to the default settings which is HD first, and I can't get to the boot menu or BIOS to change anything, and this is two frickin HP Windows 7 motherboards that have gone bad in 2 weeks.

Here's the earlier post that has now drifted back to page 7.
Any new thoughts on that will be appreciated, but I ain't holdin' my breath.

I will never, ever purchase a Hewlett-Packard PC for the rest of my life. Planned obsolescence with a power cord.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hi Boweasel,
Are you certain that the computer were totally restored after the virus removals? so that they did not trigger a system restore or something close to it? Have you tried flashing your bios through your clean xp comp?
Otherwise disable any system recovery modes before removing infections, and then flash your bios through your clean xp comp..
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, but I'm done. See my previous post.

My only hope is that HP stock falls into a black hole and the company goes belly-up.

No Post, No BIOS, No Boot From CD, Windows Vista Ultimate

I am really sorry because it is not Windows 7 but the problem is almost same.

OS Windows Vista Ultimate
Motherboard Asus P5E3 Premium
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Corsair DDR3 6GB
HD Samsung 1TB
PSU Corsair HX520
Graphic Card ATI Radeon HD Saphire 4870 1GB

I was about to throw this computer, as a last option I tried to fix today to make a decision.

No Boot, No BIOS, No Boot from CD Windows Vista Ultimate - YouTube

The components the motherboard and PSU I was suspected of this problem. The problem started about one year ago and I tried number of times by reassembled all the components but it did not work (assembled inside the case).

Last week I bought a Antec Digital PSU tester I checked the PSU and I found that PSU has no problem. I tried to buy a replacement motherboard online but I could not get it. Today I did reassemble outside the case on the table. I had same problem.

I reinstalled the CPU a couple of times I got the same result and finally I checked the CPU connecting pin with a magnifying glass I found some black spots on it. I used an eraser and cleaned it and wiped by a soft cloth. Then I installed the CPU and the CPU Cooler. The next thing I did was one of the Capacitor (looks like capacitor) near the CPU I made it a little bit straight.

Then I reboot the machine, it works now. Really strange and I do not know the real problems and the solution of this computer.
