    Where is Windows 8?

Okay, I'm being serious here. Is it just me, or does anyone else smell disaster with Windows 7. It looked and operated really well at first, but now I'm starting to see serious flaws and I'm getting worried. I realize that it's not officially out yet, but....

I was perfectly satisfied running Vista SP2. I never had a problem with it. It ran fast, no freezes. It was very responsive. It helped that I have an up to date computer but I'm not seeing the dramatic improvement people say they're seeing.

I'm having problems with Outlook, Internet connectivity, the power save mode I mentioned earlier. If safe mode had sound, I would use it. I can't be the only one feeling this way. The more and more I use it, the more it reminds me of Vista, the bad days of it. I could be overly dramatic, but it's not fun when you're working and the screen goes black. That has to be the most annoying thing to deal with. Maybe it's just me, but judging from the looks this forum, I'm not.

I have been using win 7 as my sole OS for around 4 months now and have to say it is THE best OS I've used. The problems you are having may be overcome if you gave more detail. ai personally have only had one problem since running it and that was the software vendors fault not the OS.

Have a look around the different threads and you might find some ways to solve your problems

Please describe these issues in depth please. I have been using Win-7 for months and had no issues.

Also, Windows 7 has officially came out, it is completly completed and has been released to Technet and MSDN techs, aswell as us who know where to look

you will see lots of problems mentioned on the forum, true - but not many people will come to this forum and say 'hey, this works great, i have no problems!' - they are the silent majority, happily using their os.

Its the same for any OS, people having problems because they dont understand this or that. Doesnt mean its a disaster. Far from it,, Windows 7 has to be the most stable and best Windows ever produced.

We dont need Windows 8 just yet and I think the next OS will be substantially different to any version of Windows that has gone before.

Do people always expect to be able to throw on any OS onto any hardware and get 0 problems?

Unless you're me, that doesn't happen.

I've never had any issues from Win 95 go up on my home pc.. On work, well that's a different story :)

The problem is between the chair and desk

It's the same old story IMO, first there's the OS followed by updates for hardware drivers & software tweaks. I've been using 7 as my main (and only) OS flawlessly since 7000.

To re-itterate, I think a lot of issues are to do with certain hardware not yet being 'Se7en Supported' by the hardware vendor. This is slowly changing, for example Intel now support Windows 7 & I had an update for my Wireless adapter yesterday...

Ok, back on topic....Why ask where Windows 8 is when 7 isn't even on the shelves?

Bit premature if you ask me, we need to give hardware/software vendors a chance to get their s***t together first LOL

Windows Seven it's good OS even if is released from a short time, maybe you have some problem with drivers!

    Maybe Vista it's a disaster!

The main thing is when you have the hardware to take advantage of Vista & it's running smoothly then there may not be a lot of difference performance wise. The main thing with 7 is the way it manages resources, taking up a lot less memory, therefore leaving it free for other apps.

Well I certainly don't get even a whiff of disaster with Windows 7, in fact far from it. It seems stable and I have had no problems getting things working for the most part. Vista was a disaster for Microsoft with all of its early problems. Most of these may be sorted out now but I don't think there's anyway Microsoft will allow 7 to be the train wreck Vista was.

Don't get me wrong Window's 7 will have some issue's that need sorted out, but disaster... I'm thinking no.
