Hey Dwarf, yr just down the road from me. I put York in my profile but I actually live in Barlby (nice), which is right next to Selby (Dumpsville), hence the reason I put York![]()
It's a small world. I actually come from York, and I pass by Barlby when we go to visit my parents (I'm very familiar with the A19).![]()

Hi,
new to this forum... pretty new to windows 7 as well.
got a lot of old computers around the house and always tinkering with them. I have pcs here with windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and now &. kind of missed the vista experience.
hardware wise I still hjave socket 7 gear running (AMD K6-2), socket 775, slot 1, socket 370, socket 478, AM2, socket 754... think that about covers it. nothing running socket A at the mo but I do have shed loads of socket A gear lying around.
main computers I use are the windows 2000 equiped compusys I am using now as it is pretty much silent and the slightly noisier but far more powerful Castrol which is equiped with a quad core cpu and ATi 4870 graphics.
As I said earlier I am new to windows 7 and am finding it to be a total change from my usual XP. Im not going to say its better but it is certainly flashier. I still use windows 2000 as i like the old interface and as its still supported its quite secure.
I do dabble occasionaly with linx distro's. one of my pc's has linux mint 7 and XP as a dual boot setup.
think thats about it. forum looks good so far, nice to see threads getting quick responses. keep up the good work!
