    Hi All

Hello to everyone! This is my first post on the forums, so I just thought that I would mention some of my past exploits.

I started of with Basic on a Commodore 64, which finally led me to get an IBM PC, which was one of the best computers that I have ever used. This led me to a love affair with MS DOS and in particular with DOS 5.x and it's terrific Shell. In fact, the Shell was so useful that I shunned the first Windows versions until Win98 came out.

Win 98 was a quantum leap ahead of anything that I used before and despite it's 'quirks', I rather liked it. Next of course was XP Pro, which I consider to be a good OS. However, I grew tired of it's GUI and found salvation in Linux, which was robust and had a nice GUI. I have used Linux for the last few years with good success and thought that I would be a devout Linux user into the future...until I met Windows 7.

I am absolutely amazed and enchanted with Win7. It is as if MS took all the best features of Linux and improved on them all. No fussing with drivers (it found them all for my system) and an intuitive interface. Win7 feels faster than Linux and is worlds beyond any other OS I have ever used.

Microsoft, you have hit one right out of the park with Win7 and it is good to be 'home' again. I will be buying Ultimate as soon as it is available. I look forward to participating on the forums with such a nice bunch of people.

    Kindest regards,

    Al
