Hello Archer6, and welcome to the Seven Forums,
enjoy your stay, check out the FAQ link above when you have time, and the best place for general info is the comprehensive tutorials section
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome,
I will be exploring the forum and soaking up all the knowledge I can on Win7. I look forward to contributing back to the forum once I'm up to speed and have some experience with this new OS that I'm eager to implement.
Since I've not had time until now to install a beta of it, does anyone have any suggestions as to a good place to find it and what build to try? I am ready to go....
Cheers...
The only official sources available would be to get it from MS Connect with an Ecosystem invite, a TechNet or an MSDN subscription.
All others, you'd be turning your head to torrent shares.
As for the build to start in, if you know what you're doing, you can just go ahead and try the latest Build 7057 or Build 7048 that has been reported to be more stable than the others, though user experience is varied. So, we'll let you decide. If you just want the full Windows 7 experience, Build 7000 is a great place to start as it's the official beta release.
Cheers
Welcome to the Seven Forums, archer6. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here. Enjoy your stay.

Hi David,
when you discount the "unofficial" leaked builds the 7000 Beta build is the only one that Microsoft has released officially .
They will keep it available for the corporate testers until they replace it with the release candidate
