    Yes, you can do it.

You might be able to do it with Windows Disk Management, but probably you will have to use a tool like Partition Wizard.

If you want, you could just use a single partition---C.

Many people on this forum use a C of 60 to 100 GB, with all remaining space going to D.

What do you now keep on D?

Post a screen shot of your Disk Management so we can see exactly what is going on.

Further to ignatzatsonic's good advice, check this tutorial, which walks you through altering your hard drive partitions with Partition Wizard.

Actually, the Win7 Disk Management utility allows you to resize the OS partition (often referred to as the "C" drive).

It reboots to do this, but it actually works -- as I have used it this way.

You can shrink C safely in Disk mgmt by the amount you want to add to D: Partition or Volume - Shrink

But in order to then Resize D to the left into the shrink space you need to use free Partition Wizard bootable CD which is as safe as Disk Mgmt: Partition Wizard Resize Partition Video Help.

Everyone is correct with using the Partition Wizard Bootable CD. It is the fastest, safest and easiest way to do it.

    It works perfectly everytime.

This video shows how to resize partitions with Partition Wizard.
