Redirect printer queue to a different printer?

We have two printers in our network.

We had several print jobs queued up for one printer, which ran out of ink. It would be handy if there were a way to redirect the queue to the second printer.

    Any takers?

    Hi,

The only way I can see for that to happen is to redirect it to an identical printer on a different port.

    Do you have one?

Different printers, but both are Hewlett-Packards. Not close enough, I suppose. I am curious as to how you'd do it if they were identical. It so happens that we do have a twin for one of them.

I've never found a way to do it. Even if you reinstall the same printer, or change it to wired because wireless fails, you lose what's in the queue. I know of no way to transfer to another printer once it's queued.
