    Multi-stage copy/paste?

(Hope this is the right section to post this...)

I was just wondering if there's any way in Win7 to have a multi-level copy/paste function, whether natively or with some external prorgam.

For example, let's say I have three groups of text "apple", "orange", and "banana". Is it somehow possible to copy apple, then copy orange, then copy banana so they're all stored in the copy memory at once, then press paste to first paste out apple, then orange with another paste command, then banana with a third, in order, then start all over again at the first phrase?

Basically I want to be able to copy a few different text phrases once, then paste each of the phrases (in order) into separate places without having to copy/paste each one over and over again.

Sounds like what you need is a capable replacement for Windows' built-in clipboard (the buffer where copy operations go to and are pasted from).

A quick Google search reveals tons of results - this one looks promising: Best Free Clipboard Replacement Utility

Perfect, thank you! I tried doing some searches and wasn't coming up with the right terms, I guess. But from your link, a little bit of configuring to "Ditto" and it's doing exactly what I needed. :)

I was recently looking for this solution too and this is by far the best way to multi copy paste in windows 7. It's powerful & light weight. The best features are the paste hotkeys which allow you to paste in your previously copied items by pressing Ctrl + 2 to paste in the 2nd last thing you copied, Ctrl + 3 to paste in the 3rd last thing you copied etc. It also handles images, folders, & files with ease.

Clipcube is the lightest weight program out there for anyone else looking for a replacement.
