Why "System Type" says 32 bit OS?

This is going way OT, but here we go:

    IMHO I find this over-the-top.

I have already purchased Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium so I don't see any reason to not download the RTM of Home Prem. now. At worst, it's free advertising for Microsoft.
Maybe it is English being a foreign language for me, I don't know, but I can clearly see you don't understand what I've been trying to say.

This is my choice. I understand users doing differently, I do not criticize them or feel I'm better than them. It is just a choice, background being in my profession and working history. I want to follow this principle. Nobody forces me, and I am not telling others to do the same. Free choice.

An example: exactly 4 weeks ago I had a serious traffic accident, story & pics in SevenForums > Chilling Room > Today. My car was totally destroyed. A few days after the accident I paid for a new car, which I got a couple of weeks later. The period between paying and getting the car, I had to get a rental car. I asked my car dealer to give me a similar car for two weeks, until I get the new one. Do you think it was free? No, of course not. Like you, I had purchased something I had to wait, but unlike you I paid for using it before the purchased one arrived.

You do have an opinion, it's OK. But it must not be the one and only right opinion. I have my opinions, different from yours but still equally valid.

If you want to talk about what's right and what's wrong, lets start with Microsoft. I bet if I googled 'microsoft's unfair practices' you would get thousands of factual reports of the dirty things hidden in their closets. And yet you say you don't use anything 100% illegal; surely if your that virtuous you would stay away from such a 'big bad' company called Microsoft?

It's sad that most people here/media/companies always talk about pirates, but when it's time to talk about themselves, they hide. I don't condone piracy, I also don't condone unethical behaviour by companies, I am simply saying that if you payed for Win7 yet think it's 'bad' to download the RTM. Then you should really consider switching to Linux. That way you can be sure that the developer is virtuous, doesn't have any secrets in their closets. Or you could always join a peace movement. I don't intend to be rude in this post, just giving my honest opinion. :)
No, I do not want to argue it. Not here, anyway. Definitely a wrong thread, maybe even a wrong forum. Like I said earlier, how others (private persons or corporates) choose to do has no effect in me. I do not feel I am allowed to brake licensing conditions or laws only because they are bigger crooks.

I hope this ends here, or at least we could continue this topic in some thread better suitable for this.

I was making the point that me downloading the RTM was more beneficial for Microsoft than me, plus I can always get the RC if I wish, this is different to you purchasing a rental car before your new one arrives. Anyway I said that was my opinion meaning you are perfectly entitiled to yours. I said I didn't condone piracy, just that it's good to look at things from all sides. I wasn't being rude. I don't know the full story about your crash but I hope you weren't badly injured. And yes let's consider this over. :)

    To go back on-topic: @1ignition

You only really need 64-bit if you have 3GB or over, then you will start to see the slight benefit of 64-bit over 32-bit. A decent Core2Duo or higher processor is also recommended. This from my experience and opinion.

    Thank you all.

You actually mean it is better to install the 32-bit even if this is a 64-bit processor? Why? Where can I read about that?
Look at it this way. if the 64bit processor handles the 64 bit nicely. then the 64 bit processor will handle the 32bit twice as fast....

unfortunately it's the inverse There's overhead converting 32b to 64b addresses. The address space is 64bit, the os is 64bit. So all addresses are calculated using 64bits A progam addressing memory using 32bits will have to be converted by the processor to 64bit.
