Cannot save files from any browser, BSOD, invisible mouse

Hello, my name is Steve, and I would like to thank you ahead of time for your help. I am new to these forums and do not yet know the community. I have read the rules and stickies on asking for help properly and hope this meets the standards. If it does not, please politely point out the issues with my post so that I can make future ones better. Although I hope there are no future problems to post about....

    The Saving Issues
I have built this computer from parts and everything has worked fine for a month now. I keep everything clean with AVG scans, registry cleans, disk defragmentations, and a general CCleaner clean up every few days. Nothing has been changed, however as of yesterday when I started up the computer I cannot save any files from any browser to any location. I cannot save exe, zip, png, jpg, avi, nothing. I cannot save to the desktop, to folders on it, nor to folders directly inside the C drive. I can, however, save without using a browser. I can open a word or text document and save it anywhere. I can save as, save, take the file extension off, put it in my C drive, on the desktop, whatever, it works fine.

When I try to save files from the browser this is the error that I get(For this example I am trying to save the mad.png in the smiles bar next to the post box): A message box pops up simply titled "save as" with an x in the corner and only an OK option at the bottom. It displays a yellow exclamation mark and says: "Mad.png" (new line) "The file name is not valid." All that I can do it close it either by clicking the x or the OK buton. When closed the window for choosing where to save files is still open.

I notice when trying to save another problem as well. I can try to save to any location by going to it, but the screen never displays anything but the location "Libraries > Documents" and I cannot seem to make it select any other location. If I manually type a location in the bar at the top, it reverts to "Libraries>Documents" as soon as I click outside the box, meaning when the box loses focus.

    Invisible Mouse Issue
On top of this problem, the same time I opened Opera(also tried IE and Safari) to attempt to download something I noticed that my mouse is invisible now. If I move it, it flickers extremely quickly to visible and then invisible again. I cannot see it while right clicking, left clicking, or high lighting text even. Although it is moving while text is being high lighted, it does not appear flashing quickly like it does when moved and nothing else. Also, for some reason the mouse is completely invisible no matter how much I move it while inside the box here where I am typing, but becomes visible while moving as soon as it leaves the box. Not sure if that is also my problem or the forums, but it makes editing this post extremely hard.

    BSOD
As for the BSOD that I have been having, I think that it is related to switching my RAM from single to dual channel by changing the slots. Next time I BSOD I will switch them back to where they were and see if it happens again. I get the screen randomly whether I am pushing the computer to its limits, or it is practically idling while I search the internet. The screen quickly dumps the memory and the computer restarts so I cannot see any information. I do not know much about BSOD and hope that someone might have some more information as to what I could do to find out what is causing it. Sorry for the lack of information for this problem.

AVG, CCleaner, registry cleaners, none of that has found any problems. I typed something last night in command prompt to scan for system file corruption (something along the lines of "SFC/Scannow") and it only found one error, a corrupt driver for something that I could not identify.

    System specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1100T 3.3GHz (6 cores)
    MOBO: ASRock 990FX Extreme3
    GPU: HD Radeon 6870 2GB
RAM: two 4GB stick of 1600 crucial ram
HDD: 733GB Western Digital WDC WD7502AAEX-00Y9A0 Caviar Black

Note: Before someone mentions it, yes I have read this post on asking for help with the BSOD however since I have multiple issues I rolled them into one instead of separating them. Also, if you read the whole post you would be aware that I am unable to download the utility in that thread to upload the files/logs/results that it generates.

I continued looking around while hopeing for an answer and noticed system restore mentioned somewhere. I have no idea why I forgot about that as an option, but whatever, so I tried it. I reverted back a week and the problems are fixed.
