Missing New text file

    Missing New text file


    Hi I didn't know which section would be best for this tread so i'm posting it there...
    So my problem is that few days ago the option of creating new text file through rightclick of mouse has dissapeared.
    concretly rightclick(context)->new-> textfile and this option is missing.
    please can somebody help me solve this problem.
    i have already checked registers and it seems to be all good

    That tutorial was for simply adding a program to the general context menu. The OP's problem was that the "New" context menu item for txt files was missing and the "tute" did not explain how to fix it, it simply provided a workaround for adding notepad to the general context menu in order to create a text file (which may have been OK for the OP's needs).

    I came across this thread when I had the same problem, and not satisfied with this workaround, further searching found the proper fix for it:

    New Context Menu - Remove & Restore Default Menu Items
