How do I manually create shortcut to open folder in Library view?

You could use the paths below to create a shortcut for each library that can be used in any user account. :)

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Documents.library-ms

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Music.library-ms

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Pictures.library-ms

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Videos.library-ms


When you are finished creating the shortcuts, make sure that the Start in field is empty in the Shortcut tab in the properties page so that the shortcut will not be user specific.

I'll create tutorials on these shortly tonight, and post back with links to them when finished to make it easier for you to just download them if you like.

Just open the library. right click on the folder and chose Send To->Desktop (create short cut).

That would work if done per user account since they can only be used in the specific user account that they were created in. The one's above use variables so that they could be used in any user account to make them easier to use.

I agree Shawn but the original question was how to create a shortcut to a folder in a library that opened in library view not how to create a shortcut to a library. That was the closest I could get.

I've already used kado897's solution to do exactly what I need. HOWEVER, I'm looking to be able to create a shortcut that I could send to multiple users that would open this same folder in the library view.

I'm not sure that it's possible to directly open a included library folder in library view like that to be used for all users.

If your included folder is in a C:\Users\Public folder (or in a folder that all users have access to), then you could try using Send To -> Desktop (create shortcut) to create a shortcut of it while in the Documents library to have it open in library view for all users like Kado (Keith) posted below.

It does actually work if you create the shortcut from within the library even if it gives the actual path in the link.
