It is indeed very useful. I will start using it tonight when I go to bed.

Will probably set it to wake from sleep to back up on Sundays at like 2 AM.

    Hello LordBob
As to your Tutorial on this issue, I have also made these settings previously and also made a change in the BIOS settings.

In the Gigabyte (on 3 of my desktop computers) in the Advanced Settings, Power Management table I enabled the Power on by Mouse, with double click.

This has made my computers to wake up, even when you click on the Power Switch they won't.

    The MOBos are GA-EP45-UD3R, G31M-ES2L and GA-965P-DS3.

Probably a good idea to have that on. Not sure what your point was though...

The tutorial didn't work for me. I've tried every solution I can find on W7 for my Fujitsu P1620 notebook; works great for my Fujitsu U810 and desktop. My problem seems somewhat unique. With a clean install the P1620 will only come out of sleep once fine then a second time always results in a freeze. After a hard boot, again only one successful sleep recovery cycle then freeze.

From checking the W7 forums I KNOW it is related to USB and ACPI as many others here are having sleep recovery problems. I'm the only one I've found that only has it after one successful sleep recovery cycle. Even though it happens when there is nothing connected to the USB ports the P1620 is somewhat unique in that it has a USB touch screen but so does the U810.

I tried changing advanced power USB settings and everything else recommended but no luck. Sleep works fine in XP and Vista.

This situation may occur when two or more USB-based devices have the same vendor and product identification numbers, and when only one of the devices supports the selective suspend functionality.
I have a Logitech USB keyboard and mouse. I'll check some more settings when I get home because I have never been able to get these functions to work right more than once or twice in a row. I'll try disabling USB devices one at a time and see what happens.

I need the Sleep modes because my build is an HPTC and is normally one 24/7 for recording purposes. Vista worked like a champ. In Win 7 this is the only problem that I am having. I'll also check my driver for the video and BIOS and update as needed.
