    1) if its under warrenty don't do anything if you want to make a claim. Chances are you'll get blaimed for messing with it.

    2) I'm guessing its your hard drive, all issue occur when the hard drive is being read, so I'm pointing my paws at that.

I suggest to clean this disk first. Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
You can also run the above tutorial after you start the install from the Windows DVD. At the screen where it asks to select your language, don't choose anything. Press Shift+F10 to bring up the cmd prompt and carry on with the tutorial. When finished type exit and you can complete your new install.

I can only get to step 3. It will not let me type any commands for step 4. Solutions?

    Hi,

So you are at the DISKPART> prompt?

What happens when you type list disk and hit enter?

Hi Greg. I am in the process of completing the Acer factory recovery. Any idea how long this takes? Right now it is at the 'Restore Progress' section, which I am assuming takes the longest since I am attempting to erase the hard disk. I started running it about 3 hours or so ago.

You'll have to wait to see. Do you have the Recov disks made as a backup in case it fails?
