    We cant blame them for sticking to XP, as we all know it legacy hardware needs a legacy software to run.

    The reason is that it allows you to walk the folder trees a lot faster, especially in network situations.

    This is a symptom of improperly set permissions on your destiation folders. If you copy files around a lot (especially if you had hosed those partitions with previous versions of Windows), you may have to reset the folder permissions to give you access to them.

    Don't disable UAC, fix the permissions. The UAC prompts go away when the permissions are correct.

Two annoyances

It's a new system and I'm still getting used to it but two things bug the devil out of me...first, I hate these over-sized icons. They use up maybe three times as much real estate as the icons in Xp. Is there anyway to make them smaller or swap them out? Second, I hate the gadget at the top...
