asrock p67 extreme4 will not fire up?

Hi People am haveing a few serious issues with this board.
    I7 2600k
    1155 socket
    8gb g-skill ram
    radeon 5830 hd graphic card
    800w oryxx psu
    haf 235 full case
    ---------------
have installed everthing in the case & hit the button expecting a big fanfair of power & NOTHING.

Stripped it back to a bare system with just the cpu wired up still nothing but when I unplugged the 4pin 12v connection from the board , the fans started working but nothing else !!!

The board has an 8 pin 12v but my psu only has a 4pin connector could that be the issue.

Have tried a couple of other 4pin psu's but same result , fans work but only with the 24connector plugged in not with the 4 pin ?

    HELP

Yep, that's your problem. You need a PSU that has the mobo 8 pin connection. Don't keep trying to use different power connections as you can take a real big chance in frying the mobo or some part of it. Go get a PSU with an 8 pin mobo connection. Most of the newer mobo's are going to the 8 pin connection. It's the smallest things that we over look...it happens to all of us at one time or another....LOL.
