    Notification area icons dissapearing randomly

So as the topic states the icons dissapear randomly and i've followed the page under here and i know this issue isn't precisly new.
Notification Area Icons - Reset[2]=Taskbar Start Menu
Helps for awhile then bam they go and dissapear again, not all of them but some and it annoys me to no end, just to be clear i'm not THAT used to 7, been using old XP uptill max 2 months ago as i built myself a new pc, sp1 is allready installed and all updates i could get my hands on via windows update.

I've made 7 to behave a litle like XP cause i didn't like how 7 did it :P like... got rid of the huge icons next to the start button and made a new "quicklaunch" area and have all the icons near the clock show themselfs but as stated they tend to dissapear even if the programs are running, checked via task manager.

So don't know what else to add but that's the gist of it i guess, there should be 9 icons there minus the network icon i disabled cause i didn't need it.

A reboot or relogin sometimes helps but not everytime.

    Anders, Welcome to Sevenforums!

You might try right-clicking the start menu, and selecting "properties". Under the start menu tab, click customize. Make sure all the icons that you want shown are labeled as "always show", and if they aren't, change them. Let me know if this does anything for you, or if this isn't even what you are really looking for.

Also, be careful all of the things you change in windows 7. Making it "more like xp" may actually slow the computer down a little bit as it wasn't optimized for that. You may also loose certain functionality

always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" is allready checked, i thought i said that allready.

and i haven't installed any addons for windows, just what there is in here allready and windows hasn't slowed down anyway, i'd however expect that if a addon was added or something like a theme manager.

added a image showing how it looks when it all works.

Are you talking about the icons on the right disappearing, or the quicklaunch icons on the left? If on the right, then I am at a loss... o.0 sorry bro

So you are talking about the quicklaunch icons on the left side? Unlock the toolbar, pull it over a little bit (I'll explain further if you need it) to give the icons more room, then lock it back.

    What are you doing awake!

I've not heard of it, but I wonder if there is a system tray icon limit. Try going back to the start menu and individually click each icon to show all the time:

if it doesn't work, re-tick the box as highlighted.

Ahh, you know what? unlock your toolbar and see if, as I mentioned in post #6, you can drag anything to give the icons more space. You can also try and increase the size of your toolbar and see if that helps any.

um dust... i had that link in the first post :P, done it many times, works for awhile then it's back again and from the post previous to you last, didn't work either, some still didn't show up, i'd have to either close the programs via ctrl-alt-del and restart em to make em show or go into their programs via start menu and change the icon settings to make em show.
