I can't get connected to the internet.

I can not get connected to the internet. I have had this computer for about three years and I am getting my internet service through Verizon. Three days ago I got a message that my brouser address could not be found because I am working offline. I went to tools click working offline, the red X appeard and try to get back on the internet. I have not been able to get connect since. I have contacted Verizon tech and went through all the steps with them, still no connecton. They told me it was a microsoft problem. I contected microsoft troubleshooting online service. I went through all the steps with them. I even paid $200.00 for IYOGI tech support. They say I might need a new modem. Can someone help me. I not too smart when it comes to computers, but I know everything is plugged in and connected. I don't have money to waste. I read the it might be cause by my Norton 360. Please help.

Unless you complete you system specifications and are a little more concise about what error messages you are seeing exactly it's going to be kinda hard to get precise and good advice from regulars here...

Please remember to list your cable-modem, or modem-router (and any separate router) details in addition to the onboard ethernet hardware and general system configuration

Windows 7 Home 32 bit

does the same internet works on other computers? or you are posting from a friend, cyber cafe or whatever.
If it does not work only for this pc then its a problem with your pc and not your modem.

Go to start, click on Run, type cmd, ok, at command line type ipconfig /all, enter, go up top left corner, right click, select edit-select all, right click top left corner, edit-copy. Open notepad, paste, save as network.txt and post it back here.
