I also have to mention I used Rescatux - Super Grub Disk also to try to restore the MBR but than it booted into it but since then i have the error error 0xc000000e
(The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible) |

![]() Boot up using the Startup Repair CD or Windows 7 DVD. (not the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disk) If you have a Netbook, you will need a CD/DVD drive. NOTE: Make sure no USB drives are plugged in. Do not use a USB Pendrive for Startup Repair. startup repair disc-create ![]() ![]() Ok burning the disk now will report later if it worked ![]() |

You can not use a USB Pendrive to do a startup Repair, as startup repair will find the MBR on the Pendrive & not the HD.
Therefore will not detect a problem. Self tested & MS kb934540. Windows Vista or Windows 7 no longer starts, and the Startup Repair tool does not fix the problem |

I have had the same problem; and after several attempts to repair startup using Recovery Disc, I still cannot boot to Windows 7. What can I do if I no longer have Windows 7 Installation Disk.
