Ah, ok then. Just had to make sure.

What were the results of doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this started from here? Same thing?

    Kolagen,

As a test, you might create a new administrator account to see how it works for it instead.

    No luck with new account,
    I'll sum it all :

1.On startup desktop icons are black squers.
2.Bat file restores icons but there is no IconCache.db in Local/AppData folder.
3.IconCache file is created on logof but on reboot don't create icons.
4.When i start in Safe Mode icons are OK. Restarting Normal after that icons are OK.

5.Next reboot same thing all over again.

Can't believe there is no solution !

    Kolagen,

Just as a test, see if restoring the default shortcut arrow using the tutorial below may help in case it's some strange issue with it.

Shortcut Arrow - Change, Remove, or Restore

If not, then other than a clean install of Windows 7, you might try a repair install.

    Hello Brink

Restoring back default arrows solved the problem! As i originally disabled arrows with Ashampoo WinOptimiser i enabled them with ashampoo again, restarted and icons are now back with those ugly arrows.

I did another tweak, this time with Auslogics Boostspeed,it gives option to change arrows to small light ones.
After restart they are still visible and IconCache is in right place.

Well that's solved for now, thank you for your help.
