Don't panic. Nothing's broken yet!! Take a deep breath!
Grub was installed in the Master Boot Record (MBR) of your hard drive. Use the 7 install disk and the command line tools to restore the MBR. I can't tell you exactly what to type at the moment, but given a few minutes I can google it up.
Restore the MBR and do the repair install thing and your windows will be up and running in a flash.

After you have booted to the 7 install DVD and proceeded to here:
Good luckYou're now presented with 3 choices. Click on "Repair Your Computer" to gain access to the System Recovery window. Now choose "Command Prompt" in order to run the desired utility which is called "bootsect.exe". Bootsect is located inside the boot folder so change your directory to boot. Now run "bootsect /nt60 C:\" if you had Win 7 initially installed in the C partition. Alternatively, you can run "bootsect /nt60 SYS" or "bootsect /nt60 ALL" to repair the system partition or all partitions. Eject the DVD, and restart computer. Your computer should now boot Win 7 again.

Heheheh, I just did a clean install because I couldn't wait anymore, but thanks a lot for the help.
Sorry I took so long, but I couldn't find anything quick where someone had actually restored the MBR from the DVD. So I set up my test box and restored the MBR. Hopefully the 7 install restored the MBR before proceeding so you probably don't need this now. That is OK 'cause I can now make a tutorial and post it.

if you go to cmd prompt from CD can you still type fixmbr to fix the boot record?
Right. But you need to use "bootsect.exe" for Vista and 7. The 7 DVD command prompt starts at: X:\Sources> So you have to find your DVD drive:
Type: D: Enter, then: dir Enter. If that is not it then do:
E: Enter, then: dir Enter
E: is where I found my DVD (I have a single hard drive with one partition and the 100MB boot partition) and the Directory named "boot".
If E: is not your DVD drive, then just keep trying letters until you find it.
From E:\>
type: cd boot Enter then: dir Enter and the bootsect.exe was there.
To restore the 7 MBR, type: bootsect /nt60 SYS Enter
"Exit" to close command prompt, then restart or shutdown. I rebooted to windows with no problem. I got pictures but I'm saving them for the tutorial?

How do you extend the partition? I have duel boot with Vista and 7. I would like to get rid of Vista and take that space and add it to the 7 installation.
