hm...I don't know...but to be safe set it to 40000...that way it will be 40 secs for hovering...if you hover over an icon for that long than you deserve a popup window

You should be able to, since its a DWORD and 32 bits wide.

The hex value of 400,000,000 decimal is '0x 17D7 8400' and is
well within the capacity of a DWORD without touching the sign bit.

BTW,
Did you have to actually create a new value, or was it already there?

Actually there is an undocumented reg DWORD value called "ExtendedUIHoverTime" at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced. Modify its value in decimals where 1000=1 sec. If you set it long enough (e.g.20000/20 seconds), taskbar thumbnails are effectively disabled. Try it.
