The tutorials are quiet elaborate themselves. Have you read the quotes?

The sfc /scannow command (System File Checker) scans the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible.
If one or more of your icons are not displaying correctly, or that your icon cache is corrupted, then you might consider rebuilding the icon cache to reset and reload the icon images into the icon cache.

The icon cache is located at the hidden system folder location below:

    C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\IconCache.db

For what it's worth, I would advise against reinstalling Advanced System Care - it's known to cause problems under certain circumstances.

    Hi,

Koolkat has given you 2 very good tutorials to follow. They should solve your issue. If they don't or you are struggling, try doing a system restore to a time before the problem occurred. Follow the steps under option 1 of this tutorial if you are unsure on how to use system restore. System Restore
