    Desktop Icons sometimes don't disappear after I delete


    This happens quite often; sometimes when I delete icons from the desktop, they don't disappear from the desktop. If I try to click one, however, it gives me a message that it cannot be found. I have to go to the task manager and close explorer and re open it.

    Any registry fixes?

    Hello Crovou,

    You could usually refresh (F5) the desktop to have the ghost of the deleted icon go away. Sometimes restarting the computer may stop this refreshing issue though.

I have noticed that some of the icons I added to my desktop periodically disappear because they aren't used frequently. I'm guessing this would have to do with something similar to the "Desktop Cleanup Wizard" in XP. How can I turn off this functionality in Windows 7? I really don't want to...
Desktop icons randomly disappear

Every once in awhile the Show Desktop Icons option gets unchecked randomly. I have to reenable it. Seems more common on x64 then x32. In both cases using 7 Pro. Any suggestions to keep it enabled permanently as it is a random issue?
as title, every time i start my pc (win7 ultimate) there aren't desktop icon and i must enable it with the command from context menu "show desktop icons" there is a way for fix this little bug?
