    Snipping Tool Missing

I have read most posts re problem of missing Snipping Tool. I have tried most everything but nothing worked to restore it. I am running Windows 7 and have done the following:

    1. I checked System32 folder and it was not there. I unchecked "Tablet PC Components". When I went to recheck it nothing happened. I rebooted and tried to check it again and nothing happened. It wouldn't recheck.

    2. I did a System Restore (I went back as far as I could). Still not there.

    3. On the forum someone provided a Snipping Tool download. I downloaded it, put it in the System32 folder and tried to execute it. Nothing happened.

Right now I am using Faststone but would like Snipping Tool back. Can anyone help.

Have you checked your version of Windows 7 comes with snipping tool?
Off the top of my head I think you only have snipping tool included if you have Home Premium or higher (I used to have Vista Home Basic - no snipping tool included. Might be the same for Basic and Starter in Windows 7).

    Thanks rich.
Also, LeoDee, can you tell us a little more detail?
You have said you 'wanted snipping tool back'. Did you had it before and it disappeared, or are you talking about earlier versions on Windows?

I have Windows 7 home premium and had been using the snipping tool for several months. I also did a search and found nothing.

Okay, sounds like something got your Windows files corrupted.
    Try this:
    1. Type in 'cmd' in the start menu search, and press

    'Ctrl' + 'Shift' + 'Enter'.

    2. Click 'Yes' if a user account control window pops up.
    3. Type in:

    sfc /scannow

    and press enter.
    4. Wait until the scan finishes, and restart your computer.

I'm not sure these steps recover lost Windows programs, but give it a go anyway.

    Welcome to Seven Forums
Snipping tool is part of tablet pc
Go to windows features turn on off, this is found in cp with features and programs
If tablet pc is not checked put one in it and reboot if it is selected then reset it by unchecking then reboot then go back and select again reboot.
    Good luck to you

If it is home premium 32 bit , you may download it and put it in C:\Windows\System32
