    System Administrator..Permissions..Users name can't change...HELP

Basically my cousin accidentally thought my new computer was his.. and he set it up all in his name and what not (lets go with the name STEVE).. I basically have changed the names of the login and what not around BUT here's my problem:

Everytime I goto Network..then click on BOB (let's just say that's my name), I see two things listed. Under Users.. MY stupid cousin's name (STEVE) and then "public."

When I try and change the folder's name to MY name (Bob), I always get this message:

You need permission to perform this action

You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder.

I've already gone to control panel, User Accounts, changed the name to BOB and made it the Administrator.. Yet I can't seem to change the folder name under USERS. I'm losing my mind here and I don't have the time to do a clean install right now. HELP!

Here's my suggestion, go to to Control Panel, User Accounts. Create a new account name and give it Administrator status. Login as that user, go to to Control Panel, User Accounts and delete the account you no longer require.

Ya, I figured that out a couple hours ago. Thanks for the reply though!

You would think there would be a simpler manner....

You could change your name to Steve by deed-poll?
I think there's a reg tweak here somewhere for that?

    What a 1st post boom!
