    The executable, cmd.exe seems to be OK, from what you've said about the copy, out of \sys32.

    Open a command window and type: set (then, Enter)

    Have a look at a few items of interest:

    ComSpec=
    Path=
    PATHEXT=
    SystemDrive=
    SystemRoot=

    These should all indicate the usual, with C:\ etc.

    You should be able to catch anything "out of ordinary"...

    Things just ain't right here....
    I agree here...I believe the OP should go ahead with a repair install as I think there is more damage here than is apparent

    I would like to do a repair install , but it seems that its done by upgrade and it comes with a few disadvantages, but it seems that ill have to do it.
