Windows start search dissappeared?

    1. Are you using a custom theme?
    2. Right click on the Start and pick properties/customize/set to default.
    3. You must run sfc /scannow until it fixes the problems if it can. It may take 3 or 4 times with reboot after each time. Windows 7 will not work properly until System File Checker comes up clean,(no problems).

    i set it to default and the SFC scan can't fix the missing or corrupt files!!!

    likely you have to do a Repair Install of your windows.

    Panais he did a system restore..but it only allowed him to get the SFC scannow working

    i just installed win7 a couple of weeks ago... windwos search was never here
