winsxs 10 GB

    winsxs 10 GB


    How do I get rid of most of this winsxs 10 GB of junk? I have a 60 GB SSD HD and can't afford this 10 GB of crap.

    Have a look at this thread.

    If I speak the truth, your best bet is to invest in a bigger SSD.

    Personally, I'd be loathe to delete anything in the Winsxs folder in case it bricked my system.

    You might also want to have look at this thread also.

My W7 winsxs folder is 15 GB. About half of the files are amd64_......... What are these files for? Are they for AMD 64 bit processing systems? If my system uses an Intel processor can I delete these amd64_ files? I could save about 7.5 GB space if they aren't used by my system.

Ive been searching the net and this forum, and as far as i can tell, if your winsxs folder gets really big in Windows 7 your stuffed. There is no way to clean or reduce the size of it? Can anyone confirm this? or provide a solution to help me reduce the size of it, thanks
