Desktop Icons Show at wrong size

I have this problem that's more an an aesthetic issue than anything, but it's rather annoying. I have my icons set to be rather large on my desktop, and I download custom icons for everything to match. About halfway through the day, about half of my icons were small, for no reason. I've tried refreshing my desktop, restarting, deleting the icons and remaking them, and changing the icon, then changing it back and none of that has worked. There has to be a solution I"m not aware of, and an internet search hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

    Hello Eccid

Just right click on your desktop then click on "view" and choose medium or small icons !!

    Welcome aboard, Eccid.

You are using the large icon view for the desktop. Unfortunately all the programs dont have the appropriate size to fit that view, so it takes the largest possible view, and lives a square outside.

To make it look normal, search the large icons for those programs, and apply those using this guide prepared by Jerry Best way to apply icons or an icon set system wide.

I manually set icons with the appropriate size for each shortcut, and they were all large and correct until yesterday afternoon. It's not a matter of the icons not being large enough. This is a problem that happened suddenly.

Then, what about a System Restore using a point prior to yesterday afternoon ?

Ctrl + mouse wheel also changes Desktop icon size - the OP may have done this accidently

That would effect all of my icons not some of them. I have tried resizing them both ways and putting them back with no change. The icon size hasn't changed, it's the picture being used on my icons isn't the large version. it's using the image in the icon for 32X32 icons, instead of 256x256. Yes, each icon has a size 256.

Worked perfectly, thank you. I downloaded the bat, ran it, and after a restart, it was back to normal. Thanks a ton XD
