Hi tanjib2, a laptop cooler will not significantly reduce the temp of your laptop, try to resolve the heating problem first , clean the inlet and exhaust ports, if you feel confident about opening your laptop then you can replace the TMC with some fresh like AC3 or AS5 and clean the fans while you are doing that :)

I wouldn't worry about temps in the 50s. If temps get into the high 60s, then maybe you should start to investigate.

Now I understand what you were talking about. You would put this between a heat sink and a video chip or other chips. I think that I'm going to attempt to take my HP Pavillion apart and try to fix the video chip by reheating it as I saw at another website. They were also talking about putting a compound between the chip and heat sink.

    Thanks pebbly for the response.

Hi BeeZee, Be very careful when doing the "oven trick " with graphic cards , I personnally have done a 7900gt with great success but I would not advise anyone to do it ,the risk involved can result in a card being overdone to the point of beyond repair I do not know your level of expertise so can only offer "you do so at your own risk "

i would suggest cleaning it out maybe with a air can. Then as for the cooling system i never did trust those things id just keep it over a cool surface where the air can circulate.
