    Help on Neo Basic Netbook


    Good day to all, i have a problem with my neo netbook with win7 starter installed, after booting up, whenever i click or open any icon on the desktop the delete confirmation box appears everytime and will delete the icon, any icon or shortcut you open will be deleted, pls. help.

    Hello Rommo,

    Your associations for shortcut files may not be correct. You might see if downloading and merging the lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial below may help fix this for you.

    Default File Type Associations - Restore

    I would also recommend to do a full scan of your system with MalwareBytes free just to help make sure that your system is clean.

    thanx Brink, i have reformat and reinstall win7 starter already but icons and shortcuts on my desktop still keep disappearing and deleted whenever i click or open them

    As a test, temporarily turn off the "System Maintenance Troubleshooter" using the tutorial below to see if that may help. In addition, create a new administrator account to see if it does the same thing while logged in that account.

    Problem solved


    thanx Brink, we figure out that the delete key on the keyboard is the problem, when i booted the netbook the delete key is already stuck and it will delete the icon or shortcut that I will click, anyway thanx for the help.
