How do I fix computer hanging up problem

    Good day.

I've been having a problem with my computer that it starts freezing and hang up for a while when I do stuff like: Watching videos, talking over skype/steam,sometimes playing games etc.

The sound freezes too and is in super slowmotion. After a while it returns back to normal.
NOTE: during the procces the mouse cursor is in busy mode and still animated.

Download a program called shexview from Nirsoft. Your problem may be a context menu item such as NVidia. With shexview you can remove context menu items and find which one is causing the problem. If your computer acts normally when run in safe mode I would suspect either the context menu or a driver.

    SmashPixel,
My thoughts in these situations always turns to eliminating basic issues first. Heat is the nemesis here. How long has it been since you've done a deep clean on all case fans, fins, psu, cpu and gpu coolers? I would eliminate heat as an issue first and then move forward from there.

    What he said^

Example-I was doing some work on my laptop and in the middle of what I was doing the laptop shutoff, it sort of freaked me out for a second, I tried to restart it but was getting a fatal error and it would keep shutting off without even going through full reboot.
My wife says"I bet it is full of dirt" and so I turned the laptop over and much to my surprise? My wife was right. The vent was full of caked on crud, i blew it all out and let it sit for a while so it will cool off. When I restarted it, it worked just fine with out any more issues, I have found that when it hangs, it is usually a heat issue.
