    Start menu pinned items


    Is there like a folder where 7 stores the information on whats pinned on the start menu ?

    Hello Earl,

    The pinned items in the Start Menu are located in the hidden system folder:
    C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu

I have some pinned items on the start menu but the list of visible items got populated and the rest of the pinned items seems to be below the list of visible items but they are not reachable because i can't scroll up to see them. How to fix this?
The functionality is not disabled, I can pin new items, but existing items disappeared, they vanished after updating nvidia display drivers and rebooting. If I repin the same items they appear but with (2) appended to the name indicating they a duplicate pin. Any ideas?

I know about right clicking on program shortcuts and then selecting "pin to start menu" option but can one pin things like documents folder, temp folder on hard drive, control panel, windows update etc? thanx TC

Okay, so I have a crapload of programs (mostly games) on my comp. I also abhor desktop shortcuts. I hate clutter. Anywho, I have my most frequently used stuff (Firefox, Pidgin, WMP, etc.) on my taskbar. For most everything else save a few progs. I hardly ever use, I pin them to the start menu....
