Passwors, And TheSaving Of Them ?

    Hello,

Like most everyone I imagine, I have many sites that I visit that require a Username and/or a Password.

These logins always have a check box for a "Remember Password," or some similar wording.

On my PC, the never work; not even for a single one.
    Not even for Google Groups.

So it must be something configured incorrectly on my PC, apparently.
Have looked at the Firefox Options, under Security/Saved Passwords, and there are no saved passwords shown.

Any suggestions on what to check , or how to get it to save them ?
    Or, thoughts on ?

BTW: is the Firefox Password Manager the only one under W7 and Firefox ?
A search in the search box doesn't seem to show any others.

    Much thanks,
    Bob

if you are using FF try the robo form lite password add on, you can then share the passwords folder with live sky drive or similar as a back up

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ag/?src=search

it has a few features and you can even generate some pretty hefty encrypted passwords with it

This should work in Internet Explorer 9.

I don't use Firefox, but there must be some similar settings in any browser.

    Anyway, here goes:
    1. Launch Internet Explorer
    2. Click Tools
    3. Click Internet Options
    4. Click the Security tab
    5. Go to Trusted Sites
    6. Click Sites
    7. Add the website you want to save the password for in the Trusted Sites dialog box
    8. Select Require Server Verification if the address is prefixed https, leave it unselected for sites with the http prefix
    9. Click Close
    10. Click Apply
    11. Click Custom Level
    12. Scroll down the list in the Security Settings-Trusted Sites Zone
    13. Select Automatic Logon with current User Name & Password
    14. Click OK
    15. Confirm change by clicking Yes
    16. Click OK
    17. Restart Internet Explorer
