Seven Forums and Microsoft Community Contributor Badge

There are disproportionately fewer 7F MCCA's than in the MS forums. This is not acceptable because 7F is a much more highly regarded forums even by the MS Community forum's top MVP's who remind me of this every year at Global MVP Summit.
Further, we serve much more consumer traffic than MS Community forums. When I would try to help there I would wait days to get an Installation case whereas I only need to wait minutes here. The comparison is that stark. That doesn't even address the difference in features which makes helping there like driving a kiddie car by comparison. Even after soliciting our feedback attempts to improve their Consumer site has not worked and even caused loud dissatisfaction expressed by their top Gurus at February's Summit.
I don't know if the MCCA program has apportioned slots to 7F to fill but it should increase them so that we are at least getting awarded as many MCCA's as MS forums have. This isn't to say that those selected thus far aren't the very best because they are with few exceptions ideal choices.
Please also Nominate an MVP if you feel someone or yourself is qualified. I have made several nominations I am waiting to hear back about. MS needs to fully recognize the quality support for their only successful OS which is almost entirely here. It is not fair that our delegation at MVP Global Summit is 1-2 while MS Community has dozens. I am going back in November to see my MS Community friends and would like to introduce them to more 7F MVP's.
MS should realize we save them millions of dollars by providing the bulk of quality Support for Win7.

TechNet's process is all automated so I'm to understand it works off stats and nobody really controls it's operation,
This site works off Admin's recommendations and then overseen by Microsoft and then approved and awarded,
Traffic wise I'll trust you on that one,
Answers has always had quite a bit of traffic and more now because Answers is listed on all Microsoft help-support sites.
Answers is like trying to helping people with a blindfold on
This site has always been top of the boards for the amazing tutorials and features to make finding and posting computer information easy for o.p's,
Plus the participants here are also very knowledgeable and friendly,
Thanks for the MVP link never knew it existed

The first year I went to Global MVP Summit MS Answers MVP's were locked out of their site after an overnight unveil of v.2. This caused much grumbling which is how I learned of many of their MVP's true feelings. I also was queried by their charming new VP over forums for how they could make it more accessible since 7F is considered the Gold Standard being nearly interactive.
There was much antcipation with changes being made under the charismatic new VP who had been head of Oprah's online empire. So I was shocked when there was a near insurrection of their MVP's in a session for them at February's summit. Apparently the funding never came through for the changes but went elsewhere (Surface?).
It was only awhile ago they split consumer support off of Technet naming it Answers. I think they've again changed it to Community which is why I referred to that earlier.

Thanks very much for the nominate an MVP link Greg!
One question though;
By clicking “Submit”, I affirm that I have the nominee’s explicit permission to submit this personal information to Microsoft.
I assume that this means that I have to PM the member and ask him if he/she wants to be nominated before I submit the nomination, right (might be a dumb question, but well worth asking since you have a lot more knowledge of this stuff than I do)?

You need to have an email address for whoever you are nominating, so yes, you would need to PM them to at least get that from them, naturally they will probably want to know why...

FWIW: I wonder if MS is going to start reducing the number of CC awards and concentrate on getting everyone over to Win 8?

i doubt it, i also doubt the regular windows 8 haters will be getting one when microsoft review the nominees community post histories, as they do when considering the awards

The established conventional wisdom of the public, the market and the commentariat is that Windows 8 is a terrible mistake.
To veto an MCCA nominee who is qualified because they agree would be scandalous, outrageous and unethical. These candidates are doing some of the best work in support of MS's most successful product, the one which carries forward the desktop format which the company perfected for a billion users and drives the world economy.
MS stresses at least in the MVP program that we should feel free to disagree, which makes it all the more mystifying that our input was not sought or welcome about Windows 8. If they tossed out the MVP's who have problems with Windows 8 they would lose some of the top experts in their field.
