Thank you to all the talented people who give so much of themselves to this forum.
As a beginner member for only 12 months ... on reflection I have asked some rather basic (even dumb) questions, in that time.
Many of you have been very patient and put in unbelievable effort helping lots of newbies like me.
You have all opened some doors I thought I would never dare open.
Some of you might know I have been through neck and tongue cancer, and the treatment has destroyed too many brain cells on the way.
This forum has not only helped me to enjoy my PCs (and reconnected synapses) but you have given me back my confidence to the point I have been able to return to work for the first time in 6 years.
I hope my comments here are not out of place with all the heavy-weights present.
Congratulations to every winner and thank for for your gifts of giving
Russell
PS: I thought I was the only FB ludite on the planet. I feel better already knowing I am not alone.

Very nice of you to say Russell. I believe every one of us has benefited and learned from this forum and all the knowledgeable members. Congratulations on returning to work. A Guy

Russell the only dumb questions are the ones not asked. You are doing fine and you are cooperative in your quest to learn. There are so many people who get advice and we get, "it can't be that". You are not that way and we learn from each other no matter their experience.

Well this has been a long time in the works but I seem to have broken the 5k answers mark,

Hi Russell,
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet (I haven't been posting as much here recently as I once was, and I tend to stick to the Windows Update forum), but it was great to read your story and I'm glad our community have played such a large part in it!
Your comments will never be out of place :) Unlike other forums I've helped at, you won't find any elitist opinions here among the various user ranks: any member (admin, mod, MVP, MCCA etc.) won't disregard someone else's opinion simply because of their rank, after all, we all started somewhere. So, 'heavy-weights' or not, you'll be more than welcome in any thread.
Tom
