Unable to save files to any folder other than downloads.

Hello, I have come across a slight problem, I use Google Chrome to download pictures, videos and such, I've set the default location to download said files is the "My Pictures" Folder, but when I choose to save a picture to the file it just says that I cant save it there, and to choose another location, It does it with every other main folder except "Downloads" folder, anything can go in there. I have ran AVG and Malware bytes to see if it could possibly be a virus, but no luck.

This problem hasn't been around long, and I'm already pulling my hair out over it, I was able to do it before, but unable now.

I have also attached a picture as evidence.

    I am running Windows 7 x64, and still haven't made a backup

    Thanks in Advance

    Hazzy.

I don't have IE, but It doesn't stop at downloading from the Internet, It also says that, when i try to save an image I make in Photoshop, or even a Word Doc.

You don't have IE? Are you using some kind of nLite'd version of Windows?

Also, have you tried selecting an actual directory instead of a library location? In other words, navigate to a directory and try to save it there.

you mean IE as in Internet Explorer? I uninstalled it awhile ago, I much prefer Google Chrome,

and like i've said, I can only save either on my Desktop or my downloads folder... I've tried navigating to a directory, I still get the same message

Do you remember what you did immediately prior to this problem starting? Did you install/remove/download anything? This sounds a lot like a permissions issue.

Are you using the standard naming convention (no special characters, just letters and numbers) for your files?

Have you tried 'sfc /scannow' from a cmd window that's been run as the administrator? That will find, identify, and attempt to repair any system problems.

    Hazzy.
I would try a System Restore if it is a recent problem. Restore to a point before the problem started and see if that does the trick.

It happened shortly after I Activated Maya 2012, because my Photoshop encountered an error and would close after opening, so I guess that's when it all started.
