msconfig question

    Thanks for all of the information and advice. I think I'll leave "services" alone. Just one more question... Exactly what is "services" a list of? Is it programs that start up with the computer and run all the while?

    Services.msc is a list of what is available to run on the computer and when it should run: Automatically with computer startup, Manually when they are selected, or Diabled.

    In msconfig you can see a list of what's running now from the services.msc list and the Startup folder.

    After hiding all MS Services in msconfig>Services,, you will see Services which third-party programs have enabled in Startup or by getting around the Startup list. Almost all of these are unneeded (except your AV) and are running their Updaters to spy on you. Turn them off first in msconfig>Startup and then after reboots in msconfig>Services after hiding all MS Services.

    As far as the Windows ones are concerned, this is your best and safest bet.
