Has a Dodgy CD Messed up my PC?

    Hi,

I bought a CD on Ebay of software for £4.75 ( about $7). I looked on the official site and researched the tool; (Theme Buzz - it lets you customize any Wordpress theme) and found out anyone who buys it for $37 can give it away or resell it for whatever they want, so I thought it was legit.

But I cannot open the exe file or most of the other files.

It won't let me extract the zipped folder at all.

I have tried for 30 minutes every different way to extract the files. It keeps coming up with an error box saying:
"Compressed (zipped) folders are unable to create the specified directory. Ensure that
and the directory does not already exist and the path entered is valid."

And when I clicked on the unzipped folders of the same name nothing happens.

This is the first time since I have had this PC (Windows 7) that I have not been able to unzip files. My PC is working fine. I am sure it is a fault with the files on the CD because the bonus files do not open either.

Here is a video of me trying to open the files (forget the second half - the video-within-a-video, and later - I was messing about opening image files, and forgot I was recording!):

The thing that concerns me most though is that my PC is now telling me all the time that I have 4 files that need to be burned to CD.

When I had the CD in the drive, it said there was not enough room on that CD. Does this mean it will burn the files the next time I put a blank CD in?

Does anyone know how I can open or extract the files? I have used three different tools already, and they keep giving me errors like the one in the video.

With the CD came lots of pdfs on how to make money online! It is 4 of these files that are trying to burn to CD.

Here's a pic of the 4 files' info:

And here's a pic of the burn to CD error:

So does it look like the CD is dodgy?

And how can I stop my PC thinking it wants to burn these 4 files to CD?

    thank you

Is D:\ drive your backup drive or CD/DVD Rom drive?

According to the video that was posted, 2012-02-11_2227 - neonglow's library

It is indeed the CD/DVD drive.

Try moving it off the CD to open it.

    Hi guys,

Sorry, I can't believe I didn't realize it was trying to add the unzipped folder back onto the CD - duh!

Must have had a "senior moment" there lol!

OK, I unzipped to the desktop and the unzipped folder is saying empty, even though when I tried the 2nd time in the video by unzipping in a new window, it did show all the files listed.

The seller has got back to me and said he'll let me download them if I have any more trouble.

    Thanks for your help guys
