Group Policy Problem with Desktop Background

My work computer is subject to a Group Policy. Although I have some Administrator rights, I am not the ultimate Administrator.

The problem is that every time I reboot my computer it loses the desktop background settings. It reverts to Tile and I change it to File and save. The next time I reboot I am back to Tile.

I realize this is not a life and death issue and does not interfere with my work which is database and application system support; but it is an unneeded aggravation. The desktop support staff have not been able to figure out what is causing this.

My thanks to anyone may have an idea why this may be occurring and what can be improved within the Group Policy.

Just to clarify - you have a Windows 7 computer, and your work is not using a domain to push out policies, correct? Each computer is managed by an admin that comes to the computer and logs in?

If this isn't a domain policy, then you should check this out:
