There was a problem sending the command to the program.

i am getting annoyed with this error. i use windows 7 home premium 64 bit, my problems are email related. this error started occurring on wednesday 15th feb. click link in windows mail to open, instead a box appears with there was a problem sending the command to the program. this error appears with windows live mail and hotmail, hotmail error box header Sign In? form=MW. i use IE9 or 4loot for search. errors are from desktop links, and includes sky.com.

I would appreciate any advice on how to resolve this issue. thank you.

I know there has been a sign-in error with Hotmail's services since then. It's been all over the tech news sites, but they list it as resolved. It hasn't been fully, though. I used to be able to go to live.com to get in...now I have to go to SkyDrive.live.com or else I get a login error.

I know only a workaround for this which you can try.

Open Intenet Explorer and let it exhibit your home page. Now start Windows Mail.

( For me however it does not happen with Windows Mail but with links in most other programs. So I open IE and then click on the links.)
