Classpnp problem on Win 7 64bit, even after fresh OS installation.
Hi
The laptop was initally ok, but I slammed it shut too hard and broke the screen. I replaced the screen and I was then having startup problems on Win 7 and when attempting to login in safe mode it hanged at 'classpnp'. I did some research, but as I wasn't even able to get to a command prompt i decided to carry out a disc clean using DISKPART and re-installed the OS, only this time I firstly installed XP and then Win 7 for a dual boot system. I fully formatted the HDD removing all original partitions (including the recovery partition, and I do not have recovery discs)
It worked ok for a few hours and then the Win 7 OS started slowing down badly. XP boots fine, but i am now again unable to start Win 7. Startup repair does not work also. I was not able to install my drivers. Like I say, XP is fine.
My laptop is an Asus X5DIJ 4GM RAM/Intel Pentium Dual Processor 250GB HDD
Many thanks in advance.
